Beijing - It Was a Pleasure!
WOW! We’re back, after what can only be described as a brilliant, two-day, TOTALLY TEACH WEEKEND in BEIJING.
On Saturday evening, we enjoyed fun and laid-back networking with our wonderful teachers! But it wasn’t before we had heard from not one, but two of our brilliant guest speakers; none other than Kelley Ridings and Dr. Melissa Burnell, who delivered insightful and honest talks about hiring processes, from the perspective of experienced school leaders like themselves.
The biggest takeaway?
Schools are unique, just as teachers are, and their needs differ depending on their journey and goals. But in general, most need teachers who are well-rounded, multi-faceted, and, most of all, adaptable. A teacher who is open-minded and able to bring value not just to their classroom but to the wider school community is a true asset to any educational institution. Someone who learns from experiences, seizes opportunities, and is personable and reliable is the kind of teacher that school leaders can envision fitting seamlessly into their teaching teams.
Our evening continued with many connections being made between our teachers, guest speakers, official sponsors, and the Totally Teach team 🩵
We also had an exciting end to the night as we revealed the lucky and many winners of our prize draw 🥳 With gifts very generously donated by Lumânare Home Candles, Raffles Hospital, Chinese Surfing Language School, OKDeal travel, Julu Gin, and Ella Hypnotherapy 🎁
We were back at it on Sunday morning with our exclusive 1:1 matching session with the Totally Teach agents, 1:1 CV consultations with Rowena AND a live AI & EdTech focused workshop from Damir Odobasic. Our attending teachers learnt about lesson planning for the AI-infused classroom, using the Lesson Intelligence Framework that was developed by Damir himself.
It was a fantastic weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many teachers in person, discussing their career goals, and matching them with our current live vacancies 🩵
